Retrain as an GasLocal
gas installer and
beat the credit crunch!
Over the years many of us have developed some basic
DIY skills - from basic plumbing to rewiring a complete
house.
But have you ever
considered expanding those skills into a successful and rewarding
new business?
Well, now you can! Already working as a gas installer? Would you
like to start your own business and benefit from the
GasLocal brand and expertise.
In addition to emergency services such as power boiler breakdowns essential gas servicing and repairs must be completed regardless of the economic climate.

Whilst each business develops its own local commercial and domestic
customer base they also operate together to form a national planned
and reactive contractor. National blue chip companies with sites
across the UK choose us over other suppliers because of the
convenience of having a single contact for all building
maintenance.
Clients include;
- British Gas
- William Hill Scottish & Newcastle breweries
- Laura Ashley
- Scottish & Southern Energy
- Taylor Woodrow
- Dixons
- PC World
- Carillion Spar
Changes in UK gas services legislation have made it increasingly
difficult to find a qualified gas installer.
GasLocal have worked closely with their training
partners to develop a course that not only delivers the right
qualifications but equally importantly offers a broad range of
practical training tasks to ensure franchisees are confident with
their new skills.
GasLocal Training
For new entrants to the gas service industry the
right training is essential. The GasLocal
training programme has been designed specifically for ‘mature
career changers’ and lasts around 12 weeks. The course will
cover everything you need to start your new business and begin a
new career as a CORGI registered gas service engineer.
Following a thorough induction at head office you be enrolled at one of our approved gas training partners. Their state of the art training centres will provide training on all types of Gas appliance as well as over 70 different types of domestic boiler.

Once you have passed your final exams you will be
ready to be assessed by a CORGI inspector and then receive your
CORGI gas registration. That’s it you can then begin trading
on your own! You can also choose to add modules to your training
course such as an OFTEC oil fired boiler training course.
This will normally add about a week to your training but on
completion will enable you to offer a full range of services for
oil fired central heating as well..
You will now be equipped with the skills to start
an exciting and rewarding new career with one of the
UK’s most successful franchise operations.
