Archadeck is ranked #1 in Decks & Porches in the United States
by Qualified Remodeler magazine and #8 out of the "Top 500"
remodelers. Archadeck, founded in 1980 in Richmond, Virginia, is
the nation's largest builder of custom-designed decks. With more
than 65,000 projects built across the country, Archadeck has become
known as "America's Deck Builder".
But Archadeck is much more than decks. We also design and build
screened porches, sunrooms, gazebos, trellises, arbors, privacy
screening, fences, planters, latticework, benches and many other
outdoor structures.
Archadeck... In America's Most Popular
Backyards
The remodeling industry, at over $120 billion a year and growing,
is now larger than the new home industry and affords excellent
opportunities for entrepreneurs to start their own business. It is
estimated that 60 million single-family homes in the United States
do not yet have a deck. That's approximately 75% of all
single-family homes. Consequently, the potential for growth in our
business is tremendous.

How some of our existing franchisees started successful
Archadeck businesses:
Barry Klemons Charlotte, N Carolina
Barry was a technical director for ABC in New York. When he heard
Archadeck was a construction-related franchise, he almost hung up
the phone. What did he know about decks? But he recognized a great
opportunity to excel... in an industry noted for its lack of
professionalism. So he and his wife Lorrie took a leap, and they
now have an enormously successful business.
Dave Beckman, Hunterdon, NJ
Dave had been a part-time deck builder for over a decade when he
discovered Archadeck in 1988. He was bored with his job, and
enjoyed the satisfaction he felt when he finished building a deck.
He just didn't see how he could make a living doing it full-time.
After investigating Archadeck, he found the design tools, marketing
systems, training and construction support that he needed.
Phil & Marcie Brown, Central Connecticut
Phil and Marcie each had successful business careers. Marcie was
the controller for a very large printing company, and Phil owned
his own software development company. Marcie, being a CPA, was
impressed by the margins she saw in the business. Phil liked three
things his research discovered about Archadeck: the depth of the
systems, the depth of the management team and the fact that
Archadeck has institutional heart... they care for the franchisees
and each other.
